Actor Mahira Khan and TV host Sanam Jung are the latest celebrities to have contracted the coronavirus infection. The former took to Instagram on Sunday and announced that she had tested positive for the contagious virus. “I have tested positive for Covid-19. I’m isolating and I have also informed all those who were in close contact with me over the last few days,” she revealed in her post on the photo-sharing platform. “It’s been rough but it will be okay soon. InshaAllah,” Mahira added, urging everyone to follow Covid-19 SOPs. “Please, please wear a mask and follow all other SOPs for your sake and others.”
Mahira continued, “Prayers and movie recommendations are more than welcome.” Taking to her Instagram Stories on Sunday night, Sanam shared that she and her daughter had tested positive too. She wrote, “I would like to inform all my well-wishers that I have tested positive for COVID-19. My daughter and I have been in complete isolation and thankfully, Alhamdulillah have no severe symptoms. I would request all of you to take this pandemic seriously. Covid is real, please take necessary precautions. Wear a mask and avoid public spaces. Stay indoors and be safe,” she told her followers.
Sanam ended her note with, “Remember me and my daughter in your prayers.” Recently, veteran actor Behroze Sabzwari also tested positive for the coronavirus, following which he was being monitored at a private hospital in Karachi. Prior to him, Neelum Muneer, Saheefa Jabbar, Farwa Kazmi, Aamir Liaqat, Ameer Gillani and Usman Mukhtar among others had also tested positive. While some of them have recovered completely, others are still in isolation. The second wave of the novel coronavirus has hit Pakistan with a bang, resulting in the highest-ever positivity ratio recorded in the country ever since the pandemic first broke out in March this year.
