Kangana Ranaut may not mean to hurt the sentiments of people when she speaks her heart out but she somehow always manages to spark a controversy. Once again, the Queen actor has landed herself in hot waters following her recent comments on comparing Mumbai to Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and claiming that 99% of the Indian film fraternity is involved in drugs. Jaya Bachchan was the first to call out Kangana for the same, stating that by condemning Mumbai, she was biting the hand that feeds. Now, Manoj Bajpayee has spoken up about the same.
Bajpayee recently appeared in a rap video directed by Anubhav Sinha, in which the latter explored the lives of migrant workers who seek better opportunities in big metropolitan cities like Mumbai. “Mumbai is a magical city. There’s magic here. Look at where I come from. Who am I? Where do I come from? People like me have made our villages, our districts, our towns, our friends and families proud. How? Because Mumbai brought magic to our lives,” he said.

The veteran actor added that both Mumbai and the film industry has given a lot of opportunities to actors. “We were given opportunities. And all of it happened because of Mumbai and the film industry,” he mentioned. Earlier, Kangana compared Mumbai to Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir when she said she feels unsafe in her home country. This angered Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, who wrote an editorial condemning these comments and advised her to stay away from the city, reported Hindustan Times. A rebellious Kanga flew down to Mumbai from Manali, a day after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation partially demolished her property. “With a heavy heart leaving Mumbai, the way I was terrorised all these days constant attacks and abuses hurled at me attempts to break my house after my workplace, alert security with lethal weapons around me, must say my analogy about POK was bang on,” she tweeted at the time.
