Meghan Markle turns 39, here are her top three looks we love

Meghan Markle, the former Duchess of Sussex has often made headlines for both the right and wrong reasons. While she is now enjoying a more private life away from the royal family and the British press, Meghan Markle remains to be one of the most talked about members of the royal family and often makes it to the news. She has made headlines for her choice of clothing, her marriage to Prince Harry, her relationship with her family back home, her relationship with the rest of the royal family and everything else in between.

She has a rather large fan following but has also faced backlash on a number of occasions. She has also experienced racism and there is a certain community who have always been against Meghan Markle’s entrance into the royal family. Her wedding with Prince Harry became one of the most watched weddings in royal history and fans and fashion enthusiasts eagerly awaited to see her wedding look, which was of course met with some negativity.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made the announcement to resign from the royal family back in January this year which came as a shock to many. It was in April that they officially resigned from their royal duties and headed overseas to the United States and have been in Los Angeles since. Sources close to the couple however, have mentioned that they could make a return to the UK in the near future to attend the wedding of Prince Harry and William’s first cousin from Lady Diana’s side.

Until then however, we have a number of Meghan Markle looks to enjoy. Meghan Markle celebrated her 39th birthday this week and to pay homage to the duchess, we round up three of our top looks sported by Meghan Markle.

Lady In Red

Earlier this year, ahead of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended a music festival showcasing Britain’s military bands at the Royal Albert Hall. The couple left heads turning and their pictures from the tour were plastered all over social media. Meghan Markle especially made a bold statement in a striking red dress and left everyone talking. Meghan Markle was clad in a bold red floor-length gown which featured a knee-high slit. The dress also featured a high neck and a cape which draped along the back. The dress was coupled with a pair of matching suede red heels and a satin clutch, also in red. To accessorise, she wore a pair of dangling earrings in a contrasting red colour. Fans were going gaga over this look and the Safiyaa dress matched Prince Harry’s royal uniform. For her hair and makeup look, Meghan Markle opted for a sleek bun and had her hair parted in the middle. She was given subtle smokey eyes with a nude lip and exuded grace in this look.

Green with envy

Towards the end of their time as members of the royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended the Commonwealth service which marked their final appearance as members of the royal family. When pictures of the couple surfaced across social media, netizens were all talk about this look and we admit, we too had our jaws dropping. If there’s one look Meghan Markle sported during her time in the UK, we think this  would be it. For the look, the duchess was clad in a striking green midi dress which featured a cape attached from the neck.

The full-sleeved dress was worn with a matching fascinator featuring net detailing. Meghan Markle teamed the look with a pair of nude heels and carried a black pouch bag to round off the look. With kohl-rimmed eyes and a glossy lip, we think Meghan Markle left heads turning as she made her exit from the UK.

The Modern Bride

When Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle, the world watched in awe. From the designer she would wear to the tiara she would borrow from the Queen, to the vows they would say, the world paused to see these two tie the knot. For her big day, Meghan Markle opted for British designer Clare Waight Keller, who is the artistic director of the fashion house Givenchy. She created for the duchess a silk dress with a modern feel featuring a wide boat neck and full sleeves.

The dress was all things simple, sans any embellishments and accents. The dress hugged her figure, albeit loosely, at the waist, and flared out at the bottom. The dress had a timeless yet elegant aesthetic and also featured a trail. The dress had a relaxed demeanour and was rounded off with a pretty net veil which was adorned with floral details representing 53 countries of the Commonwealth. With her hair tied back in a bun and minimal makeup, Meghan Markle’s look is still talked about till this day.
