Mehwish Hayat Hits Back At “Gutter Journalism” In Latest Posts

Mehiwsh Hayat has not only become a household name in Pakistan but across the globe too. The Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipient is often vocal about her opinion on various subjects and is not one to shy away from social media when it comes to standing her ground. She has been outspoken about the much-disputed Kashmir issue as well as the ban on Pakistani artists from entering India and viceversa. The starlet recently put up a Twitter post in which she threw shade at Indian media outlets for spreading fake news related to her. Her tone seemed rather serious as she hit back at trollers and publications for “gutter journalism”.

The Load Wedding star wrote, “I will not give credence to the unfounded accusations being made about me in some Indian media by issuing a statement.” She added, “I know exactly what their agenda is and why they’re doing this. All I will say to them is that this kind of gutter journalism will not shut me up. I will continue to highlight their atrocities in Kashmir and to call out Bollywood for its hypocrisy.”

The Punjab Nahi Jaungi star continued, “Oh, by the way, next time if you want to link my name with someone … may I suggest Leonardo DiCaprio?” While it is not exactly clear, it seems like Hayat was responding to news reports surrounding her alleged affair with a notorious Indian gangster. She received love as well as hate for her tweets. One user commented, “More power! Love from kashmir. Thank you for being our voice.” Another added, “Thank you for raising your voice for us. It means a lot to us,” alongside a heart emoji. On the work front, Hayat has a handful of projects in her kitty alongside a new-in-the-pipeline venture opposite Fahad Mustafa, details of which have not been revealed yet.
