Mehwish Hayat Responds To Trolls Once Again: ‘Who I Choose To Marry Is My Personal Decision, Stop Matchmaking’

It is not uncommon for celebrities who are single to be romantically linked with their colleagues or people from outside the industry. Actor Mehwish Hayat has often fallen prey to the same and this time was no different. In a video which resurfaced on YouTube earlier this month, Hayat can be seen in conversation with show host Begum Nawazish Ali while she talks about her preferences in men and reasons for being single. Of course, the clip was taken out of context by netizens who began trolling her around-the-clock and questioning her personal life. Not one to hold back, Hayat has now clapped back with a message on Twitter.

She wrote, “Who I choose to marry is my personal decision and ppl will know when it happens. Take a chill pill guys and stop matchmaking!” The Jawani Phir Nahi Ani star added, “Let’s not take a throwaway line in a 2-year-old interview out of context & make unnecessarily juicy headlines. Aur bhi gham hain zamane mein Shadi k siwaa! LOL.” Users on the micro-blogging site lauded Hayat for her bluntness. “It’s important to do what’s best for you, whether people approve of it or not. This is your life. You know what’s good for you,” tweeted one. Another commented, “Well said!” Many users posted emojis including the thumbs up and clapping ones.”

In the episode of By The Way, Hayat weighed in on her perception of a perfect man for herself. She said, “He has to have a good height. It doesn’t matter if he’s not fair-skinned, a man should look like a man. Thori si mardana wajahat, thora uncha lamba qad, ek swag hona chahiye (He should be masculine, tall and suave!).” After listening to Hayat, Ali pointed out that he had a bachelor in mind. “Yes, somebody important, influential, and young and it’s his first time in the parliament,” he said, without mentioning any names. Hayat instantly reacted with, “Bilawal?” to which Ali replied, “I didn’t say it, but now that you have, what’s wrong with Bilawal?” She responded, “There’s nothing wrong with him, I think he’s very good looking. I wouldn’t have a problem as long as we click.”
