Following a turbulent start to 2020, many film shootings and releases were put on hold indefinitely. The same was the case with the seventh installment in the Mission: Impossible series. The project – which was initially slated to hit floors in Italy in February this year – was delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak that took the world by storm. The cast and crew was however granted permission to kick off the UK portion of filming in July. After much back and forth, Christopher McQuarrie, the director of the last two Mission: Impossible films — Rogue Nation and Fallout, has announced that the filming of the seventh film in the highly successful spy thriller franchise has begun.
In the meantime, reports lead star Tom Cruise allegedly renting out a cruise ship for production have been making the rounds, getting fans even more excited and impatient about the film’s release.. McQuarrie took to Instagram to share a picture of scenic snow-capped hills with a man (whose face cannot be seen but any guesses?) standing in the middle of nowhere. McQuarrie captioned the photo, “Action…MI7 Day 1.”

Mission: Impossible – Fallout, the culmination of the three film Syndicate arc that began with Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol in 2011, starred Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, Michelle Monaghan and Alec Baldwin who will be reprising their roles from the previous installments. Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett and Vanessa Kirby joined the franchise with Fallout. Fallout received one of the best reviews for any action film in history. Mission: Impossible 7 is scheduled to be released on November 19, 2021. Cruise’s fans cannot wait for his upcoming venture to hit the big screens.
