Mohabbat Dagh Ki Soorat Episode 37: Neelam Munir and Sami Khan’s Show Takes An Interesting Turn Post-Leap

“Mohabbat Dagh Ki Soorat” is a show that has been playing ping-pong of sorts in regards to viewer interest.  While the show started off strong, focusing on the unique love story between Sanaan (Sami Khan) and Shijrat (Neelam Muneer), this drama took a shocking turn when the two became parents before their “rukhsati.”  Since then, the show has been a hot topic of discussion.  Starring Sami Khan, Neelam Munir, Syed Jibran, Sunita Marshal, Kinza Malik, Arez Ahmed, Kamran Jillani, Erum Akhtar and others, the story has been written by Saira Raza and directed by Zeeshan Ahmed.

In episode 37, Sumaiya (Erum Akhtar) and Obaid (Kamran Jillani) have become proud parents to twins.  Along with Zain, the couple now has three children.  Meanwhile, Shijrat and Sanaan are now planning on “starting” their own family.  Shijrat, after seeing Sumaiya with her kids, has finally felt that yearning and set her fear aside.  Unfortunately, the arrival of the twins has given Obaid’s Aapa room to taunt little Zain, consistently calling him an orphan and even suggesting Obaid and Sumaiya educate him in a charity school as opposed to one of their standard.  While this role of Aapa is infuriating, how many do we know within our own society who look down on adoption and do not regard those adopted children as part of the family?  Particularly now that Sumaiya has her own children, “her own blood,” Zain’s happiness in Sumaiya’s home is beginning to look shaky.  Sumaiya is fiercely protective of Zain, as not only has she raised him herself, but he is also her brother’s son.  But is that enough to give Zain the importance he needs as a young child?  Or will this be a moment for Zain to, somehow, wind up with Shijrat and Sanaan?

“Mohabbat Dagh Ki Soorat” has taken an interesting turn with this angle.  This situation is already sticky enough without added drama, but the acceptance of an adopted child after one gives birth to their own is something many have grappled, whether personally or seen within a family.  That child, who was once seen as a blessing, a light in their life, suddenly finds their worth diminished due to the arrival of new blood children.  This is a situation we would all declare would never happen with us, but can anyone truly guarantee this?  It’s Erum Akhtar who steals the show this time as a mother torn between wanting to enjoy her time with her children and fighting off an interfering sister-in-law targeting her first child.  Sami Khan and Neelam Munir are always great, but it’s particularly nice to see the two smiling again as they work on repairing their relationship.  Overall, the show has hit a good point now where the story has become interesting.
