Naya Rivera Co-stars Send Prayers as Investigations Continue

Another day, another round of speculations regarding the mysterious disappearance of Glee star Naya Rivera yesterday. Authorities have been working day in, day out in search of the 33-year-old beauty who reportedly rented a boat for herself and her four-year-old son on Wednesday afternoon, and headed over to Lake Piru. Three hours into their ride and her child was discovered sleeping alone in the boat by another boater who immediately rang up officials and kicked off the hunt for Rivera through drones, helicopters and dive teams. Their efforts, however, seemed to have gone in vain last night and there is still no news on the Hollywood star yet.

When questioned by investigators, Rivera’s son informed them that he and his mother went swimming and she supposedly never found her way back to the boat. Details about how the little boy managed to get back into the boat remain unknown. According to Captain Eric Buschow of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, “There’s a lot of challenges in a reservoir this size, at times with visibility. I don’t have details yet as to the depth of the area where the boat was found or what conditions they’re encountering out there.” The car in which Rivera and her son drove to Lake Piru was removed from the site, while the boat remained in the water for further investigation.

The concerned authorities are trying their best to locate Rivera’s family in order to hand over her son to them. The search for the actor is expected to resume today (Thursday). An extremely heart-wrenching incident, a whole lot of prayers are being sent out by Rivera’s co-stars and other Hollywood personalities, who remain shaken to the core and in disbelief. Harry Shum Jr., who starred alongside Rivera on Glee, tweeted that he was “praying,” while Jackée Harry requested fans to pray for “the lovely Naya Rivera.” He also posted their scene from the sitcom The Royal Family, which was Rivera’s first big television outing. “We starred alongside one another in her first very television series, The Royal Family, and I’ve watched her career blossom ever since. Please God, don’t cut this life short,” he penned on the micro-blogging site.

Vanessa Lengies expressed an outpour of love for Rivera. She tweeted “I love her. I love you. Holding you tight,” accompanying her caption with the prayer emoji. According to actor Robert Kovacik – who also hoped for her safe return – Rivera was not wearing a life-jacket while going for a swim. However, her son was clad in a life-vest.

Actor Zack Teperman wrote, “I am in complete disbelief and shock right now as I post this. I still can’t believe what I’m hearing and hoping it isn’t true. I’m just sad. She was one of the first people I had the honor of working with. Refuse to believe this is true.” He then posted a screenshot from their earlier conversation and captioned it, “Was messaging Naya a few weeks back. This cant be true. Prayers for her little boy!” The world mourns the tragic missing of Naya Rivera as people world over put their hands together and pray from the bottom of their hearts for the actor’s return, who not only had a lot more to accomplish in her professional career and was not only loved by her colleagues and fans but was also a source of immense support for her son. “UPDATE: The search for actress Naya Rivera has been called off for the night, but is expected to resume in the morning,” read a post on CBS LosAngeles’ official Twitter handle.
