Pakistani Designer Rizwan Beyg Honoured To Receive The Tamgha-e-Imtiaz

The Tamgha-e-Imtiaz is a state-organised honour of Pakistan. It is given to any civilian in Pakistan based on their career milestones and achievements. While many renowned personalities have bagged the prestigious title in the past, a leading couturier is now being celebrated for the same. Acclaimed fashion designer Rizwan Beyg was recently presented with the award by the Governer of Sindh at the Governor House. Having set up his fashion label back in 1989, he has made waves on the fashion front domestically while also showcasing his offerings in many parts of the world. Beyg took to social media and informed his fans about the great news.

Sharing it on Instagram, he wrote, “A year later than scheduled but finally got the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz at a small intimate ceremony at the Governor House Sindh,” the designer posted. He expressed his gratitude to his well-wishers, while also thanking all the people who have stood by him throughout his journey as one of the pioneering fashion designers in Pakistan.

Beyg added, “May we continue to be proud Pakistanis, thank you Pakistan for the respect and honour.” He also weighed in on the reason behind his victory. “Many believe I have gotten this honour because of my designing profession. But the reality is the corporate social responsibility our label has shown, the work we have done over the course of the past 10 years with women in rural villages, that is the reason for this award.” He continued, “We’re working hard and hoping to grow our capacity building with such women and get more women from more villages on board – providing them with jobs and opportunities to increase their income for a better life ahead.” Beyg is known for his traditional sense of style while incorporating a modernistic feel to his pieces. His designs have been worn by the likes of Princess Diana, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and other world-famous figures.
