Pakistani woman’s YouTube channel is an inspiring tale that needs to be told

Social media has become a source of inspiration, entertainment and nowadays a space where children can learn. With the number of social media portals growing, it has become difficult to decide which one to use and stay loyal too. From the creativity of Tik Tok, to the aesthetically pleasing Instagram and to the entertaining factor that YouTube provides, it has become difficult in the modern age to keep up with them all.

While social media can be a place where you can express yourself and showcase your creativity and talent, it can also at times become a toxic space; one which you need space from time to time. YouTube, being one of the popular social media platforms is also home to some great content, music and channels. One such YouTube channel is that of Daily Routine. A tweet on Twitter, another major social media platform, took us to this YouTube channel which is something we have not yet come across.

Daily Routine is a channel run by a Pakistani woman from a village, who documents and uploads glimpses of her life in the village to the channel. The channel has amassed over 185,000 subscribers and we must say, it must have taken her great courage to start the channel to make some money. Videos on her portal highlight her day to day life where she has shown her subscribers her way of life, where she lives and what she does on a day to day basis.

‘My afternoon full routine,’ ‘Independence Day Celebrations’, and ‘Mera Room’ are just some of the titles of the videos she has posted on her channel. The videos show her brick house and surrounding area of the village. She is often seen in bright coloured clothing and talks about her life, her children and has made her channel a source of income. Comments under her videos are mostly positive and are urging other users to support her channel so she can earn a living.

Twitter user Nabiha Mustafa took to the micro blogging site and shared a note about the YouTube channel saying, “Came across this channel on YouTube run by a Pakistani woman who documents and uploads bits from her life in a village and it’s honestly fun to watch.” She goes on to tweet that “She uploaded a video today saying she’s getting threats from other ppl around her asking her to give them her channel or whatever she earns from it. I’m sure it must’ve taken her great courage and hard work to earn 182,000 subscribers on YT and make some money. She lives with her young sons, eldest just passed class 12. Reach out to her if you can pls!”

It appears that while this Pakistani woman is trying hard to earn a living and showcase her creativity on social media, there are those who are trying to put her down and threatening her for her livelihood.
