PM Imran Khan Shares Throwback Images With Bollywood Actor Aamir Khan From His Visit To Pakistan

The official Instagram account of Prime Minister Imran Khan has just shared pictures of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan from his visit to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital back in the day. The Dangal star travelled to Pakistan in 2004 to help raise funds for cancer patients. The images of the Bollywood star – donning long hair and a big moustache – are now making the rounds on social media after being posted on the photo-sharing platform. To mark the day the actor paid a visit to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital 16 years ago, the caption read, “16 years ago. Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital visit by Aamir Khan.” Both the Khans can be seen in the frame alongside a few others.

PM Imran, who is also the chairman of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, extended an invite to Aamir at the time, who arrived in Lahore to help raise funds for the hospital. In 2012, when Imran was a guest at a media event in India, Aamir said, “The ideology that you preach, the dream that you have (for Pakistan), I pray that you succeed in it. I hope to see a government in Pakistan, which will actually solve the imperative issues faced by the country. And I know that you will come out victorious because you have been struggling for years.”

He continued, “When you began your journey, I know that you faced many issues and hurdles that came your way but you stood against them. You’re firm in conviction and you’re still at it.” Imran responded saying, “You have to visit Pakistan if that happens!” to which Aamir replied, “I will! And I will bring a lot of Indians with me. We will celebrate your win in Pakistan.” However, when PM Imran gained victory in the 2018 elections, Aamir revealed he had not been invited to the oath-taking ceremony or would have been present on the occasion.
