Prem Gali Episode 13: Farhan Saeed and Sohai Ali Abro Win Hearts as Hamza and Joya

“Prem Gali” is a show that receives rave reviews week after week, depicting a story refreshingly different from the rest. This show does not fixate on drama and thrills, rather it focuses on families within a small neighborhood and depicts their togetherness, support, prejudices, rifts and the overall connection between these individuals. “Prem Gali” is a love story at heart, but is also the story of family bonds and the story has been beautifully written by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Qasim Ali Mureed. Starring Farhan Saeed, Sohai Ali Abro, Saba Hameed, Uzma Hassan, Shamim Hilaly, Qavi Khan, Wasim Abbas, Farhat Abdullah and many others, “Prem Gali” has now reached a point where Hamza and Joya’s marriage has almost been called off. This is where episode 13 picks up.

The neighborhood comes together to solve Shireen’s (Saba Hameed) dilemma of wanting a “ghar damaad.” Both families come to a compromise and it’s decided that Hamza’s family will move into Shireen’s empty upper portion so both families can have access to their children. And while ideally this seems like a logical situation, Haatim (Wasim Abbas) and Shireen begin butting heads almost immediately as viewers – and Shireen – realize how like-minded the two are, both money-minded and set in their ways. The chemistry between Wasim Abbas and Saba Hameed brings a smile to the face and their characters are a joy to watch despite being uptight, more rigid characters.

Hamza (Farhan Saeed) and Joya (Sohai Ali Abro) are over the moon when they realize their marriage is back on. The two are seen basking in their happiness on the roof, sharing a sweet non-verbal moment together that shows how much love these two characters have for one another. Farhan Saeed and Sohai Ali Abro are naturals in these roles and they perform well off of one another, making the Joya and Hamza pairing root-worthy.

The “villain” of episode 13 unintentionally becomes Luqman (Farhat Abdullah). When he overhears Joya and Mussarat (Uzma Hassan), discussing Joya’s issues with Rahat regarding her clothing, he misunderstands and believes Joya is discussing her unhappiness with the marriage (rather than her clothes). While Luqman’s misunderstandings create a situation that is frustrating for viewers, as well as Hamza, one cannot be too upset with Luqman. The man has been through a lot of emotional trauma and he simply wants to prevent another tragedy. This misunderstanding also brings out some of the funniest dialogues from Hamza’s family, particularly when Haatim (Wasim Abbas) insinuates that shaitaan (the devil) has possessed Luqman to prevent the wedding from taking place.

Once again, Hamza’s family steals the show not only with their funny dialogues, but also the depiction of their loving bond as the men come together to celebrate Hamza’s marriage. Qavi Khan, Wasim Abbas, Farhat Abdullah and Farhan Saeed share the sort of chemistry that makes one feel that these men are a real family. Of course, the women are not far behind and Saba Hameed, Shamim Hilaly, Uzma Hassan and Sohai Ali Abro make an equally endearing female-oriented household. Saba Hameed brings the viewer to tears several times as Shireen with the emotions surrounding her only daughter’s wedding.

Prem Gali Episode 10: Talks Begin for Hamza and Joya’s Marriage

Episode 13 is an enjoyable episode with wedding preps and planning, along with Luqman’s interference. As Hamza and Joya’s marriage festivities begin towards the end of the episode, the wedding is set to take place in episode 14. However, things seem to be taking a turn with the mysterious introduction of Javed Sheikh’s character next week. One would most likely have to assume Javed Sheikh is playing Shireen’s ex-husband and Joya’s father. What role will he have to play moving forward – and will he support Joya’s marriage to Hamza or will these two lovebirds face more problems before finding happiness? One thing is certain: “Prem Gali” keeps moving from strength to strength.
