Prem Gali Episode 25: Joya and Hamza Run Away From Home

“Prem Gali” continues to tread along with its natural pace, sprinkling drama in a show that’s relaxing to watch and puts a smile on the viewer’s face. Starring Farhan Saeed, Sohai Ali Abro, Saba Hameed, Uzma Hassan, Shamim Hilaly, Qavi Khan Waseem Abbas and others, “Prem Gali” has been written by Faiza Iftikhar and directed by Qasim Ali Mureed. Last we saw, Hamza and Joya decided to run away from home. This week, they put their plan into action.

The love of a family is so important, one of those things that one cannot appreciate enough. And yet, in Hamza (Farhan Saeed) and Joya’s (Sohai Ali Abro) case, the love of their families has become so overbearing and obsessive that they are unable to enjoy their lives as a married couple. They have gone from being individually coddled young adults to being treated like a team of married children. This is something no one would appreciate. And yet, after creating this entire plan to run away, Hamza and Joya still struggle internally with the thought of leaving their families behind. The scene between Dada Ji (Qavi Khan) and Hamza is tear-inducing as Hamza hugs his grandfather, telling him he loves him as Dada Ji smiles in surprise, Hamza overcome with emotion at the thought of leaving him behind. Joya also experiences these emotions while talking to Dada Ji and Haatim (Wasim Abbas), followed by Rahat (Shamim Hilaly). There’s no doubt that Joya’s family and Hamza’s family are both very loving households with well-intentioned family members, but their intentions tend to go over the top more often than not.

This is the case after Hamza and Joya leave as well. While the two initially enjoy setting up their new home and spending time together, as night falls, they begin missing home, the ambiance and their family’s cooking. More than anything, both are plagued with the idea of their families worried at home. While Hamza places a secret call to Haatim, telling him that they are safe, but refusing to answer questions, Joya calls Rahat and tells her that they’ve run away. Both families are left confused and ranting over this decision in a hilarious way. Ultimately though, Shireen (Saba Hameed) is seen connecting the dots to Manzoor (Javed Sheikh) and believing he has a hand in it.

Aulaad Episode 7: How Much Are Parents Expected to Give Their Children?

The performances in this episode are great, as usual, but Qavi Khan, Wasim Abbas and Abdullah Farhatullah’s performances really stand out this time around. It’s interesting that no one in either family is able to understand how oppressive they’ve made the household for Joya and Hamza. And it’s even more amusing (and sweet) that despite it all, Hamza and Joya are finally alone, living the life they’ve wanted – and yet, they are missing their families terribly. Fortunately, it seems they will reconnect in the next episode (with Luqman at least) and Shireen and Manzoor will come face to face again. It seems as though Joya may find out about her father sooner than later.
