Priyanka Chopra turns 38: Here’s how the actor is keeping fans engaged on her birthday weekend

Indian cinema’s Desi Girl, Priyanka Chopra, has made waves in Bollywood in her two-decade long acting career. From delivering stellar performances in super-hit classics including the likes of Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Salaam-E-Ishq to making a mark in Hollywood with the popular TV series Quantico, she has left no stone unturned in her showbiz journey. On the occasion of the starlet’s 38th birthday today, a bevy of her co-stars wished her the best of health and happiness in her personal and professional life. An elated Priyanka also took the opportunity and reshared some inspiring stories from around the globe. Happy Birthday PeeCee!

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Priyanka wrote, “Birthday weekend calls for some inspiring stories!” She re-shared a series of posts about different people and entertainment personalities. “@GretaThunberg sent an open letter and a list of demands to the EU & global leaders. I, along with other activists, scientists, representatives of civil society & influencers have signed. It’s time to #FaceTheClimateEmergency. Sign the letter,” Priyanka posted, along with a link to the Climate Emergency EU page. She then lauded an award-winning artist for designing fashionable face masks during the coronavirus pandemic. “Remant Kumar Mishra, a Madhubani artist from Bihar, was struggling to make ends meet due to the pandemic which has caused millions to lose their jobs. The award-winning artist decided to use his artistic talents to fashion face masks.”

Weighing in on #BlackLivesMatter, Priyanka tweeted another story of an inspirational young boy, Malone Mukwende. “A second-year student at St George’s, University of London, Malone Mukwende wrote Mind the Gap, to help those in his field of dermatology recognize potentially life-threatening diseases on Black people. Amazing!” She also appreciated a signboard poster crushing gender stereotypes in Srinagar’s famous Koker Bazaar. Priyanka wrote, “Amid the busy streets of Srinagar’s Lal Chowk, a norm shattering signboard reads ‘Javed Sheikh & daughters’ is changing things!” She gave credit to the Kashmiri father who is working hard to change the lives of his young girls. Priyanka has long been an inspiration for millions around the world. Her philanthropic work has won her hearts and fans everywhere and she continues to make her loved ones proud.

Amongst her B-town co-stars, Kareena Kapoor Khan was one of the first to wish Priyanka. Posting a breathtaking picture of the two on Instagram, the Ki & Ka star wrote, “Happy birthday! May you continue to inspire the world. Hugs from across the globe,” alongside a string of heart and balloon emojis. Following suit, Farhan Akhtar shared a photo from their film The Sky Is Pink. The image shows the duo swimming in the ocean. It was captioned, “Happy birthday Priyanka Chopra. May your sky always be the colour you choose. Big hug,” he penned.

“Happy birthday Priyanka. You’re strong, a fighter and inspiration to many. Here’s wishing you a splendid birthday,” added Anushka Sharma. She also shared another still from their much-loved film Dil Dhadakne Do. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja also posted two pictures of herself with Priyanka from an award function and wrote, “Happy Birthday Priyanka. I hope you have a fantastic day today and I can’t wait to meet you in person.” Ace designer Manish Malhotra posted a picture with the actor from one of his fashion shows and penned down a sweet birthday wish for her in the caption. Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who directed Priyanka in Fashion, wrote, “Happy Birthday Priyanka Chopra. May lord Ganesh Always bless you with good health, peace & Happiness.
