Qayamat Episode 10: Samra Hopes Her Happy News Will Change Rashid

“Qayamat” continues to win the audience over with its story of two sisters involved with two brothers. Starring Ahsan Khan, Neelam Muneer, Amar Khan, Haaris Waheed and Haroon Shahid in lead roles, “Qayamat” has been written by Sarwat Nazeer and directed by Ali Faizan. As Rashid and Samra’s marriage continues to escalate to an unhealthy place, Jawad and Ifrah’s relationship moves in a positive direction

In episode 8, Rashid (Ahsan Khan) takes Samra (Amar Khan) out for dinner on Jawad’s insistence. Still, the two seem to be having a not-so-terrible time until Pari (Sana Fakhar) walks in. While Rashid is busy pacifying Pari, Samra spots Saad (Haaris Waheed), who comes over to say hello. This scene is kind of ridiculous, because there is no need for Saad to have approached Samra at all – and Samra should have immediately asked him to step away, considering she knows what her husband’s nature is like. Regardless, the scene plays out exactly as expected with Rashid spotting the two together and then character assassinating her both in public in front of Saad and then later at home. It is nice to see Saad come to her defense and makes the viewer wish even more than Samra’s parents had the backbone to marry their daughter to Saad instead of the terrible Rashid. Later at home, as Rashid blasts Samra with Jawad attempting to de-escalate the situation, Samra faints. It’s no surprise that Samra is declared to be expecting, but what is surprising is how Samra realizes this gives her some strength in the household and demands that Rashid change his ways. At the end of the day, it’s all about support and Samra feels as though this baby has come to cement her place in this household and elevate her position. However, is Samra simply underestimating Rashid once again and not recognizing what he’s capable of?

Jawad (Haroon Shahid) is not only the perfect son, perfect brother, perfect brother-in-law, but is also the perfect to-be son-in-law. He is one of those characters one cannot help but love and this is what makes it easy to root for Jawad and Ifrah’s (Neelam Munir) love story. This couple is absolutely root-worthy, but it’s clear that happiness is not in their future, despite Jawad convincing his father to ask for Ifrah’s hand in marriage for him. The uneasiness on Ifrah’s parents faces is evident and their reasons are too. On one end, one can see how difficult it would be for parents to send their second daughter into the same abusive family – but with Jawad as a husband, could Ifrah’s situation be anything like Samra’s?

Qayamat Episode 9: Ahsan Khan and Amar Khan Are Brilliant as Rashid and Samra

The performances in this show are the highlight – everyone from Ahsan Khan as the awful Rashid, Haroon Shahid as the sweet Jawad, Amar Khan as the timid Samra and Neelam Munir as the outspoken Ifrah, they are simply all wonderful. The show does have its share of dramatics and conspiring, which is never particularly enjoyable, but the subject of “Qayamat” is heavy to begin with, so “enjoyable” isn’t part of the theme. Still, “Qayamat” continues to be a worthy watch with its great performances, strong characterizations and engaging story.
