Qayamat Episode 13: Rashid’s Callous Behavior Has Devastating Effects

“Qayamat” is a show that manages to raise blood pressures each week, but also pulls in high ratings. Starring Ahsan Khan, Neelam Muneer, Amar Khan, Haaris Waheed and Haroon Shahid in lead roles, “Qayamat” has been written by Sarwat Nazeer and directed by Ali Faizan. With Jawad and Ifrah now engaged to be married and their Nikkah approaching, Samra and Rashid’s marriage continues to be on the rocks despite Samra’s pregnancy.

In episode 13 of “Qayamat,” we see Samra (Amar Khan) expecting and while she’s now carrying the family’s “heir,” her mother-in-law (Saba Faisal) does not soften her attitude towards her. However, Rashid (Ahsan Khan) has become the typical toxic husband – abusive, both verbally and physically and yet, he throws a few sweet words and moments of affection Samra’s way, giving her the notion that the state of her marriage is improving. It’s just enough to keep Samra happy, but remains an abusive marriage nonetheless – and unfortunately, the only one in the house to offer her any support is Jawad (Haroon Shahid). Jawad and Ifrah’s (Neelam Munir) relationship remains strong, but Ifrah’s heart is bogged down by her sister’s misery as she wonders if her inclusion into the family will make things better or worse. Rashid continues his love affair with Pari (Sana Fakhar), who is clearly playing with him, as she has many other men wrapped around her finger. But her flippant behavior is messing with Rashid’s emotions and he’s turning around and taking that frustration out on Samra. From the promos, we can see that, in a tragic turn of events, a verbal scuffle between Rashid and Samra turns into tragedy when Rashid shoves Samra out of the way and she falls, yelling with pain.

Pehli Si Muhabbat Episode 5: Uzma Hassan’s Zainab Brings Depth To the Story

What’s frustrating about “Qayamat” is that its storyline is predictable. As viewers, we already know exactly where this story is headed, particularly after the promo for the next episode. If you do not like spoilers, please stop reading right now. From the promos and the OST, it’s clear that Samra will pass away, leaving behind a newborn child. And considering Ifrah and Jawad’s Nikkah has yet to take place, Ifrah will be called in to care for the newborn child….as Rashid’s wife. Now, this scenario is frustrating for many reasons. First, it’s not necessary for an aunt to care for her nephew by marrying his father. Ifrah could easily marry Jawad as planned and care for the baby as his Khala under the same roof. Why is this option never even something to think about? Second, and most importantly, Samra has been abused by Rashid and it’s that abuse that will lead to tragedy. How and why would anyone think it’s a good idea to marry their 2nd daughter to the same man? In what world does this make sense? Rashid’s father has already threatened this family so much – is it really worth it to destroy their children to cater to his demands? At this point, “Qayamat” is a frustrating show and it’s one of those shows one would only hold on to in order to see Ifrah completely destroy this family in her revenge. Now let’s hope that’s what happens.
