Qayamat Episode 2: Amar Khan’s Samra Sacrifices Herself For Her Family

“Qayamat” has taken off on a strong note with viewers thanks to Ahsan Khan’s negative role, along with the drama this show promises in future episodes. Starring Ahsan Khan, Neelam Muneer, Amar Khan, Haaris Waheed and Haroon Shahid in lead roles, “Qayamat” has been written by Sarwat Nazeer and directed by Ali Faizan. The first episode introduced viewers to Ifra (Neelam Muneer) and Samra (Amar Khan), two sisters from a middle-class family.

In episode two, we see Samra and Saad’s (Haaris Waheed) love story moving forward as they spend time together at Saad’s sister’s wedding. Encouraged by Ifra, Samra and Saad admit to their liking each other and Saad take his proposal to Samra’s home. Both mother and father are pleased with Saad’s proposal, recognizing that both the son and mother are good people and they cannot get a better proposal for their daughter. They are also aware that Samra likes Saad and are supportive. Unfortunately for them, Rashid (Ahsan Khan) is also on the “lookout” for a proposal. Rashid himself does not want to get married, but his father (Shabbir Jan) wants him to settle down with a good girl. Rashid, however, is rejected from all corners as every family finds out about his bad habits and behaviours. It’s no surprise then, though very frustrating, that when Samra’s father (Noor Ul Hassan) visits him at his workplace to discuss Saad and Samra’s marriage, he lies to him, saying that their mother arranged Rashid and Samra’s marriage when they were children. This is a blatant lie and even Samra’s father recognizes this. Knowing Rashid’s reputation, Samra’s parents try to stand up to Rashid’s parents, rejecting the proposal from Rashid and making it clear that Samra likes Saad. But because they’ve taken many favours from Rashid’s father, including the house they live in, he threatens their livelihood unless Samra marries Rashid. Samra, being the dutiful daughter, steps up and says she will accept the proposal, agreeing to marry Rashid.

Qayamat Episode 1: Ahsan Khan Is In Fine Form As The Uncouth Rashid

While initially it seemed as though Samra’s parents would sacrifice their daughter to Rashid, it’s now clear that this is not their choice. They are literally being blackmailed into marrying their daughter off to a man that they realize is not good for her. It’s tragic, because the entire episode focuses on making the audience fall in love with Samra and Saad’s relationship – and then, just like that, it’s ripped away from us. Amar Khan and Haaris Waheed are really sweet in these roles and it will be sad to see how this story plays out. Neelam Muneer is bright and lights up the screen as usual. Ahsan Khan is not in many scenes this time around, but is doing a good job as the “rough” Rashid. However, at this point, he just seems like a caricature. Will his character have a truly evil side to it? We will have to wait and watch.
