Qayamat Episode 7: Ahsan Khan’s Rashid and Haaris Waheed’s Saad Come Face-To-Face

“Qayamat” is one of Geo’s more promising shows, featuring a strong cast, which includes talented names like Ahsan Khan, Neelam Muneer, Amar Khan, Haroon Shahid, Haaris Waheed, Shabbir Jan and Saba Faisal. “Qayamat” has been written by Sarwat Nazeer and directed by Ali Faizan. The show focuses on two sisters, Ifra and Samra, from a middle-class household. Their lives are turned upside down when Samra is married (essentially through blackmail) off to her ill-mannered and of bad character cousin, Rashid.

Episode 7 sees Rashid (Ahsan Khan) continuing to neglect his wife in favor of Pari (Sana Fakhar). However, Pari is not what she seems. Rather, she is playing Rashid for money and is not interested in him or any other reason. While Rashid has seemed like this uncouth big-bad-villain initially, it’s now clear that he’s a highly gullible, foolish sort of character. One would call him an overgrown child who has been spoiled throughout his life, leading to bad habits. This is the sort of character that could have been brought on the right track a long time ago had his parents actually taken an active interest in doing so. But alas, even after this grown man gets married, the parents take the blame off themselves and place it on the wife for Rashid’s wayward ways. It’s great to see Jawad (Haroon Shahid) step in and set them straight about how she has only been his wife of two weeks and they haven’t managed to change him in years. Pari, on her end, has promised Rashid a career in acting and is in “cahoots” with a man posing as a director. This terrible duo are taking money from Rashid in promise to make him a star. One would feel sorry for Rashid if he weren’t such a horrible human being, taking his wife’s money and jewelry to fulfill these demands. Ahsan Khan is doing a great job playing this overgrown brat.

Jawad drops Samra (Amar Khan) to her home to visit with her family. Of course, the family wonders why Rashid hasn’t come and it’s clear that Jawad would make the ideal son-in-law for this family, the way he tries to pacify them. It only makes it more tragic that while this family deserved Saad (Haaris Waheed) and Jawad as son-in-laws, they got Rashid instead. While Jawad and Ifra (Neelam Muneer) indulge in their flirtations, Jawad’s mother (Saba Faisal) and Khala discuss Jawad’s interest in Ifra and it’s clear that they will never let this alliance happen. The chemistry between Haroon Shahid and Neelam Muneer is wonderful and they bring a smile to the face. This makes it more difficult to digest that their love story will not be headed anywhere. Neelam Muneer has improved a lot as an actress and she shines in each and every show.

Prem Gali Episode 24: Misunderstandings Continue As Hamza And Joya’s Resentments Grow

The episode ends on a heavy note as Rashid, blackmailed by Jawad, arrives to pick Samra up – and bumps into Saad, who is there to pick up his sister. The two men size each other up and while Saad tries to make a quiet escape, Rashid demands he stay. This will, of course, erupt into a fight between Samra and Rashid as Rashid’s suspicious side emerges. While he’s certainly not jealous, he’s cruel enough to turn around and blame his wife for cheating while actually cheating himself. At this point, “Qayamat” does manage to tell an interesting story and the characters are written in a way that it’s not clear how events will unfold, even if we can make loose predictions on the story.
