Raqs E Bismil Episode 14: Moosa Embarks On a New Journey

“Raqs E Bismil” is a show that does not get the attention and credit it deserves. It’s unfortunate that in a space where viewers are searching for quality content on a daily basis, rival channels choose to air two brilliant shows on the same night (Raqs E Bismil and Khuda Aur Mohabbat). Still, “Raqs E Bismil” is capturing the attention of avid drama viewers and winning their praise. Starring Imran Ashraf, Sarah Khan, Momin Saqib, Anoushay Abbasi, Mehmood Aslam, Javeria Abbasi, Nida Mumtaz, Furqan Qureshi, Saleem Mairaj, Gul E Rana and others, “Raqs E Bismil” has been written by Hashim Nadeem and directed by Wajahat Rauf.

Episode 14 is one of new experiences for both Moosa (Imran Ashraf) and Zohra (Sarah Khan). Now out of jail, Moosa recognizes that he cannot go home, hence begins a journey of new experiences, beginning with living with Murad (Saleem Mairaj) in a simpler lifestyle. Of course, one cannot live without earning, so Murad takes Moosa to meet Laila (Zara Sheikh) for a job as her bodyguard. Their first encounter begins on shaky ground, considering Musa’s religious beliefs and Laila’s profession as an actress/producer, but the two quickly warm up to each other and hence begins what promises to be a beautiful relationship. Moosa is Moosa and while he may come chalk full of his flaws, he has endured a lot in his recent past and so he does hold women in high esteem (now) and as he protected Sakina (Anoushay Abbasi), he now protects Laila with his full dedication. Of course, Moosa’s dedication to the job results in him attacking Taufeeq, Laila’s abusive husband (and Malik Sheheryar’s wayward friend). While Laila protects Moosa in this encounter, taking his side against Taufeeq, this puts Moosa in Taufeeq’s bad books. Taufeeq is revealed to be a once-popular-now-flop actor who married Laila for status and money. It’s also revealed that Taufeeq has gotten rid of Laila’s bodyguards one by one in the past, as he’s looking to put a plan into motion – one to permanently get rid of Laila perhaps? However, Moosa will prove to be a harder nemesis to get rid of.

Meanwhile, Zohra continues to struggle in her new marriage, realizing she’s simply a showpiece for Malik Sheheryar (Furqan Qureshi). This is difficult for Zohra to come to terms with as she always dreamed of leaving that lifestyle behind her, which is why she wanted an education, an identity away from her family. And now, she has married someone who engages in big talk of “ghairat” and “izzat,” but does not care to protect her from other men and their lecherous stares. When Sheheryar’s associate visits the house, he propositions Zohra, leading her to slap him as Sheheryar walks in. This will cause a rift in their marriage for sure – if not end it? Moosa and Zohra may be as different as night and day, but internally, Zohra wants exactly what Moosa promised her – and gave her.

Phaans Episode 6: Hashir Becomes The Prime Suspect – But Is He Guilty?

Of course, Moosa’s family continues their search for him, particularly after Isa (Momin Saqib) now realizes Zohra was not the woman involved in the shooting. The problem now is that Isa is slowly getting closer to the truth – a truth Sakina does not want revealed, despite Sakina’s desire for Moosa to come back home. But can Moosa be accepted back into the fold without Sakina’s truth coming out? Episode 14 of “Raqs E Bismil” is not only engaging, but also gives its main characters, particularly Moosa and Zohra, additional layers through their new experiences. Imran Ashraf is the heart and soul of the show. When “Raqs E Bismil” began, Moosa was a despicable character, one who seemed backward and cruel in his approach. However, this character has gone through incredible personal growth and has gone on to become a character to love, particularly through Imran Ashraf’s performance. Zohra is a complex character, equally a complex as Moosa, and Sarah is playing her very well. Moosa and Zohra’s lives are currently on different paths, but those paths are set to cross now with Moosa working for Laila and Zohra married to Malik Sheheryar. “Raqs E Bismil” continues to be an underrated show.
