Raqs E Bismil Episode 8: Sarah Khan’s Zohra Receives a Surprise Visitor

Telling the story of unattainable love, “Raqs E Bismil” is a show that highlights the emotions one goes through when they discover love – and change themselves to be worthy of that love. Starring Imran Ashraf, Sarah Khan, Momin Saqib, Anoushay Abbasi, Mehmood Aslam, Javeria Abbasi, Nida Mumtaz, Furqan Qureshi, Saleem Mairaj, Gul E Rana and others, “Raqs E Bismil” has been written by Hashim Nadeem and directed by Wajahat Rauf.

In episode 8, we see Zohra (Sarah Khan) spending time with Shehryar (Furqan Qureshi) at a party he has thrown in her honor. Shehryar’s interest in Zohra is apparent, but his intentions are dubious considering we know he’s an already married man. While Zohra initially seems interested and puts her best foot forward while interacting with Shehryar, it’s after leaving that viewers here Zohra’s exasperation with the world she’s in, a world in which she only indulges in to please her family – otherwise, she states, she would never work as an escort. Zohra is an interesting character, because she recognizes her background and does not apologize for it, but at the same time, she does not wish to be a part of it and, regardless of her attitude towards Moosa, she wants exactly what Moosa is offering her. Moosa offers her the chance to remove herself from her environment, but of course, she wants the respect associated with it as well – and because he does not believe Moosa is capable of giving her that respect, she shows disdain for him as well. Sarah Khan is doing a great job in this role, but the character of Zohra deserves a bit more screen time in order for viewers to truly get acquainted with her and her thought processes.

There’s no room to question Moosa’s (Imran Ashraf) dedication. He has turned his entire world upside down for Zohra and, in the process, his entire family has turned their world upside down as well. A family with conservative ideals all seem to be turning in one way or another. While Isa (Momin Saqib) supports Moosa as a loving brother, it is certainly out of character for both brothers to be caught up in this situation. Likewise, Moosa’s mother turns up at Zohra’s home to see her, a move that one never would have thought possible. And then, in a surprising turn of events, Moosa’s father visits Sitara’s family and lays out the truth before them, choosing honesty over hiding Moosa’s truth. While Sitara’s family is obviously upset at this turn of events, Sitara has always loved Moosa and cannot imagine herself with anyone else. She has a hard time accepting this reality, but it’s seen in the preview that she will meet with Moosa and discuss their future with him.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Season 3, Episode 1: Does The Premiere Live Up To Expectations?

Of course, one can’t forget Sakina (Anoushay Abbasi), who is informed of Kamran’s return – and truly believes that he loves her enough to take her away from her present situation. However, it’s clear to viewers that Sakina will be disappointed in this regard, placing her expectations on a man who left her to begin with. Everyone performs well in this episode, particularly Imran Ashraf and Salim Mairaj. Episode 8 does a good job of moving the story along, though it’s not clear where the story will head from this point onward, especially with Moosa’s mother asking Zohra to leave Moosa alone in the next episode. How will Zohra react? Will Moosa discover his mother’s betrayal and how will he react to it?
