Recreating Sonya Hussyn’s retro Eid hairdo

Eidul Azha was a fashionable affair with lots of new trends, styles and silhouettes coming to the forefront. Our Instagram feeds were flooded with lots of fashion forward looks and we got to see all our favourite celebrities dress up in some of the most fabulous outfits. From pastel hues, to solid colours and classic silhouettes, this Eid saw a range of looks brought to the forefront via our celebrities’ Instagram accounts. It was most certainly a fashion parade and each celebrity’s look outdid the next and we haven’t been able to decide our favourite look from the festive season. While many caught our eye, there is one diva whose hair style stood out for us.

It was none other than Sonya Hussyn who rocked a super quirky and retro hairdo which made her Eid look stand out more so than any other look this Eid. On the first day of Eid, she was clad in a unique black ensemble which was adorned with heavy floral embroidery, by Lahore-based designer, Ali Xeeshan. The ensemble featured a pair of wide-legged pants and a thick gold foil trimming. The kameez featured the same embroidery all over and we can’t stop crushing on this look.

While the outfit is quite a stand out piece, what really stands out in this look is the starlet’s hair. Pictures of her hairdo were making rounds on social media over Eid and the look was a true depiction of old world charm in a modern era. The starlet had her hair braided and the braid was lengthened with some extensions. The braid is then wrapped around with different coloured thread matching the colours in the embroidery of her kurta. The actress has also shared a video on her Instagram which shows how the finishing touches are added to her long braid.

The look is rather easy to create but you’ll definitely need someone to give you a helping hand. It will work well if your hair is washed more than a day old! Braid your hair and add in the extensions. If you want the exact length as Sonya then opt for longer extensions, but you can opt for your desired length. Get three colours of thread and one by one wrap them around your braid.

To round off her look, Sonya Hussyn opted for a dewy glow and a simple makeup look with lots of highlighter. She completed her look with a pair of statement earrings and was oh so festive this Eid.
