The coronavirus pandemic has led to a disruption in the lives of many around the globe. The world of entertainment has been affected by and large too. Initially, when the contagious infection first broke out, it led to the immediate shutting down of cinemas and postponement of film shootings alike. However, when Covid-19 cases witnessed a decline in different countries in the past two months, actors returned to the sets while maintaining social distancing and wearing masks. Many celebrities have previously been tested positive for the deadly coronavirus infection and now British actor Robert Pattinson seems to have fallen prey to the same.
Movie studio Warner Bros said in a statement that “a member of ‘The Batman’ production” in Britain had tested positive for the coronavirus, but did not give a name. “Filming is temporarily paused,” the studio’s statement added but did not say for how long. However, it has now been revealed that the above-mentioned star was Pattinson, who is currently in self-isolation.

Filming of The Batman had resumed only three days ago after being shut down in mid-March, due to the scare surrounding the coronavirus. The film, in which Pattinson stars as the comic book hero, has about three months of shooting left. Its release was pushed back earlier this year from June 2021 to October 2021. Some productions, including Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World: Dominion, have restarted in London or in Eastern Europe, while the cast of the Avatar sequel is back at work in New Zealand, where the coronavirus has been kept in check, reported Reuters. Tom Cruise in July got permission to shoot parts of the next Mission Impossible thriller in Norway without having to follow any major quarantine requirements.
