Six eye makeup looks any girl can do

In the sweltering heat the last thing we want to do is apply layers of base, contour and highlight. Staying indoors for weeks on end has given our skin that time to breathe and now we’re used to going days without applying any makeup over our skin care. Many have reported that their skin has improved, feeling smoother and healthier and with a more prominent glow. But as some of us head back to work and have started meeting friends and family from afar, we want to start looking a little more presentable than we have been looking for the past few weeks.

And while it is still imperative that we keep our face masks on, our eyes are still on display and we can get creative with them. And so we rounded up these eye makeup looks that you can all create at home.

Shimmery eyelids

This is one of the easiest things you can do that will make your eyelids pop. Shimmer comes in a range of colours and pigments. From pink hues to emerald greens, to dusty golds and sparkling silver, the options are unlimited. Pick your favourite and get those eyes to pop.

Winged eyeliner

Probably the most basic eye makeup look and something that is so versatile that it will go with every look. The winged eyeliner can be thick or thin depending on your preference and works well in the daytime as well as night. You can opt for black or brown, and if you’re feeling bold, even green or turquoise which will definitely leave heads turning.

Liquid or cream eyeshadow

Liquid or cream eye shadow is probably the easiest way to create a bold look. And the best thing about it is that it is so easy to apply and create. Take a small amount of the cream shadow and apply all over your eyelid and blend up into the crease. You can use either your finger tip or a brush. You can also add more dimension by swiping some bronzer through the crease. How simple!

One colour all over the eyelid

This is another easy look that can be created using a single colour. It is minimalist yet makes a big and bold statement. It requires only a minute of your time and just one brush and one colour. This look looks best with neutral hues, think earthy hues, mattes and browns depending on your skin tone. This look is best for those with hooded eyes or monolids as it makes your eyes look big, being the focal point. If you feel daring however, you can opt for a brighter colour, perhaps a pastel pink or a sorbet yellow.

Heavy Mascara

If you want to opt out of any coloured eyeshadow or go without anything on your lids, then a little mascara won’t hurt. A coat of mascara can instantly make you look awake and bright eyed, even if you’ve only had a few hours of sleep. You can opt for just one coat to add some dimension to your eyes, or go all out and opt for two to three coats for a more dramatic look.

Smudgy Eyeliner

And last but not least, go for the statement smudgy eyeliner look which is easy to create. To get this look, you’ll need an eye pencil rather than a liquid eyeliner. Line the inside of your water line with a black pencil as well as the top. Then you can use either your finger tip or brush to smudge the eye pencil so it comes outside your eye and creates that smudged look!
