Sonam Kapoor pays homage to artisans in latest look

Sonam Kapoor has become a household name in India and is one starlet who needs no introduction. While she has played her part in a number of Bollywood films, she is known for her bold sartorial looks and has made waves in the industry with her edgy style. She has never been one that is afraid to experiment and over her time in the industry, has become not just a force to be reckoned with, but also a global style icon. There is very seldom a time when the actor doesn’t serve inspo to her fans and always leaves heads turning each time she steps out.

This girl can be clad in a basic tee and jeans, or a glamorous desi look and she will always leave jaws dropping. The Veere Di Wedding actress is an avid user of social media and often takes to her Instagram account to share glimpses of her life and her fashion forward looks with her fans and followers. While things have been rather quiet during the Coronavirus pandemic, we have barely spotted our fave B-Town celebrities out and about. From all the glamorous looks and red carpet appearances, our lives were definitely missing something.

And now, Sonam Kapoor has taken to her Instagram account and shared a picture of herself on national handloom day. To pay tribute to all the artisans who work tirelessly and have been affected by the pandemic, she said, “In trying times like these, let’s lend our support to the artisans in India’s Textile Industry who are constantly weaving magic and sustaining India’s rich cultural heritage!”

She shared a picture of herself clad in a lovely hand woven sari in a terracotta colour and of course, as per Sonam Kapoor’s style, it wasn’t your average sari. The sari was a plain one, featuring a pretty gold trimming along the bottom and the palu. What makes this sari unique is that it was teamed with a matching jacket worn over the sari. The jacket was handwoven in the same colour and fabric and featured full sleeves and frilled sleeves.

To accessorise, the Neerja actress wore a gold choker and earrings featuring stone work the same colour as the sari. Not only is this look a minimalistic one, it is also a rather impactful one. Sonam Kapoor has also shared pictures of the artisans creating the beautiful fabric on national handloom day.
