Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: Actor’s Family, Ankita Lokhande Welcome CBI Probe With Open Arms

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death sent shockwaves around the globe. While most of Bollywood was left in a state of despair and sorrow, the grief of his family and loved ones was unimaginable when images from his funeral first surfaced online. Soon after his passing, Sushant’s family requested a CBI inquiry into his shocking suicide. The late star’s father even filed an FIR against Sushant’s ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty on multiple grounds. Before Rhea, Sushant was allegedly dating actor Ankita Lokhande. She and Sushant’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti have now expressed their happiness over the government’s acknowledgment of Sushant’s death case.

 

The Indian government has accepted the Bihar government’s request for a CBI investigation into the suicide. An elated Ankita shared a post which read, “The moment we’ve waited for has finally arrived.” Earlier, Ankita revealed her reaction when she first heard about Sushant’s death. She revealed she was woken up by the phone call of a journalist who informed her about the episode. “I was sleeping and I just got up with some reporter’s call. Usually, I don’t take unknown numbers. I picked up the call and this reporter said, ‘Ankita, Sushant has committed suicide!’ And I was finished. It was something that… you don’t expect something like this.”

Sushant’s sister Shweta also tweeted about it the CBI investigation. “CBI it is!!! #JusticeForSushant #CBIEnquiryForSSR #CBIenquiry,” she penned. Shweta had earlier requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to scan the case and ensure no evidence is tampered. The Centre on Wednesday informed the Supreme Court that it had accepted the Bihar government’s recommendation for a CBI investigation. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre, told the court that Bihar government’s recommendation for CBI investigation in the case has been accepted. A bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy also noted that the truth behind the actor’s suicide must come out.
