Tere Bina Mein Nahi Episode 26: Is The Villain Of This Story Noor – Or Murtaza?

“Tere Bina Mein Nahi” is not a perfect show.  To be honest, the treatment of Noor, a working woman, has been fairly negative in recent weeks while portraying her best friend, the homemaker Tehniyat, as a complicated yet sweet character.  We are forced to forget Murtaza and Tehniyat’s betrayal, this couple assuming the position of hero and heroine while Noor regresses to the position of vamp.  And yet, there are flashes of interesting storytelling, good performances and scenes which make us, as an audience, wonder “what is the statement that’s being made here?”  Starring Sonya Hussyn, Aiza Awan, Shahzad Sheikh, Bushra Ansari, Khaled Anum and Munazza Arif, the story has been written by Maha Malik and directed by Ali Masud Saeed.

In episode 26, Tehniyat (Aiza Awan) works hard during a business trip, excited to be receiving appreciation and shares this excitement with Murtaza (Shahzad Sheikh).  Unfortunately, Murtaza’s reaction is less than supportive in this moment, chiding Tehniyat for “neglecting” their child.  In return, Tehniyat is furious at being accused of ignoring her child after being away for only a few days.  The taunts do not begin and end with Murtaza, rather come from her mother-in-law (Bushra Ansari) as well, which would frustrate any daughter-in-law.  Meanwhile, Noor (Sonya Hussyn) is now married to Ehsaan (Aijaz Aslam), a rich businessman and has returned to Murtaza’s life…..as his boss.  This is what currently has Murtaza upset, as Noor wields her power over him in the workplace.

While Noor’s behavior is obsessive and does not come across as respectable, can anyone really blame her?  All Noor ever wanted was for Murtaza to support her career and really, their issues were communication issues.  However, even if their relationship did not work out, Murtaza committed the ultimate betrayal by marrying Tehniyat, Noor’s best friend.  In one moment, Noor lost both her best friend and the love of her life.  Now watching Murtaza not only married to Tehniyat with a child, but also supporting Tehniyat’s career, this is a huge blow for anyone to take.

Murtaza spends half the time taunting Tehniyat or making her feel like a failure for not being perfect.  Is Murtaza really a supportive husband or is he simply putting on an act for Noor?  And if that’s the case and Murtaza is really just fixated on putting Noor in her place – who is the real villain of this show?  The stars of this show are the women, particularly Sonya Hussyn and Aiza Awan who are both doing a wonderful job in their individual roles.  In the upcoming episode, it will be revealed that all is not what it seems in Noor’s marriage.  At the current juncture, we have to wonder what the end message of “Tere Bina Mein Nahi” will be.  Will Noor’s character be redeemed?  Is Murtaza the true villain?  Or will the show paint the working woman in a negative light while excusing the emotional betrayal by Tehniyat and Murtaza?  We do have to wonder what the end result will be.
