The Green Entertainment Lineup: 12 Upcoming Dramas To Look Out For

Green Entertainment is a new channel which claims to be a movement, a channel which will take great care to release content which contributes to society.  The channel has garnered a lot of excitement due to its innovative advertising and statement of offering meaningful entertainment.  As of right now, the trailers of twelve diverse, intriguing shows have been released, though the lineup and order of release has not yet been announced.  Let’s take a look at what these shows have to offer.

“Idiot” stars Ahmed Ali Akbar and Mansha Pasha in lead roles.  The story has been written by Kifayat Rodani and directed by Anjum Shahzad.  “Idiot” tells the story of those curious minds who ask too many questions and how they are perceived by society.  This will most likely be the first drama to launch on the channel.

“Kabuli Pulao” stars Ehtashamuddin, Sabeena Farooq and Abdullah Farhatullah in lead roles.  The story has been written by Zafar Mairaj and directed by Kashif Nisar.  The OST by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has already won us over with its meaningful lyrics and soothing vocals.  The story of an older man and an Afghan refugee and how romance strikes this unlikely duo is an appealing one.

“Jeevan Nagar” star Sohail Ahmed in the lead role with Rabia Butt, Noor Ul Hassan, Saqib Sameer and Kashif Mehmood.  Written by Awais Ahmed and directed by Kashif Nisar, this comedic drama takes a brave look at stereotypes, gender identity and the division of classes.

“College Gate” is a youth-oriented show with a fresh cast, including popular social media star Zarrar Khan, and revolves around new ideas meshing with social norms.  The story has been written by Ateeq Inayat and directed by Fahim Burney.

“Nauroz” stars Mawra Hocane and Shamil Khan, while the story has been written by Kashif Anwar and directed by Shahzad Kashmiri.  Trained to be a fighter, yet hidden from the world, the sheltered Hina discovers the world of social media – its positives along with the negatives.

“22 Qadam” stars Wahaj Ali and Hareem Farooq in lead roles and is highly awaited.  It has been written by Zeeshan Ilyas and directed by Anjum Shahzad.  Following Junaid and Fari, “22 Qadam” is about female empowerment, set in the world of cricket, where dreams have no gender.

“101 Talaqein” has been written and directed by Omer Ikram.  This dark comedy stars Zahid Ahmed as a divorce lawyer along with several special appearances.  The show explores the cracks in marriage – and strives to offer positivity and hope.

“Jindo” stars Humaima Malick, Goher Rashid and Hajra Yamin in lead roles.  The story has been written by Qurban Ali Rao and directed by Anjum Shahzad.  Humaima Malick plays the title role of Jindo, a woman living in a conservative society who fights against oppression.

“Wonderland” stars Fahad Sheikh and Hajra Yamin in lead roles.  The story has been written by Rida Bilal and directed by Sohail Javed.  This is a story set in the film world where a young director strives to bring his vision to life.

“Tumhare Husn Ke Naam” stars Saba Qamar and Imran Abbas in a show that puts them in their element.  The story has been written by Umera Ahmed and Sarah Qayyum and directed by Saqib Khan.  This is described as a classic love story, an emotional tale set to transcend social divisions and boundaries.

“Siyaah” is a horror show which will tell a different tale each week.  This will be a series of 19 different stories with a different writer-director team and new cast each week.  This one is for those who like thrills and chills.

Last, but not least is “Breaking News”, starring Hamza Sohail and Amar Khan.  Of the twelve shows, this is the only one without a promo at present.  However, as they began shooting last year, it is coming soon!
