Fans of the popular crime drama, Mirzapur, have been anxiously waiting for the release date of its second series. And now, the makers of the highly-anticipated web series have finally announced the release date of the second season and fans are ecstatic. Earlier today, Amazon Prime shared a video in which the release date of the show was announced. Here it is fans, Mirzapur season 2 is all set to hit your screen on October 23, 2020.
The one minute-long video shows the character Guddu saying, “There are two types of people in the world – alive or dead. Then there are the third type – wounded. They took everything from me but left me alive. A mistake.” This has sent fans into a frenzy and we too can’t wait till October comes and we can binge on the show once again.
It was earlier last month when the cast of Mirzapur 2 was spotted at a dubbing studio which led to speculation about the second season airing soon as it was supposed to begin streaming earlier this year; however, plans for this were postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown. After the great success of season one, fans are once again expecting great things from the second season. Lead actor, Ali Fazal has said that the pressure is now on because there are so many expectations from the new season.
“We were always the underdogs and there was always immense love from the audience. But now the show is considerably delayed because of the circumstances posed by the pandemic. Through the lockdown, fans have been after us. We can feel the eyes on us, and I hope the audience is a little generous. Such great content has come out in the last year that I will be very proud of being part of Amazon’s legacy,” he shared in an earlier statement.
Last year actor Pankaj Tripathi made his Instagram debut with a short teaser of Mirzapur 2. In the video, the actor could be heard saying, “whosoever has come on the earth, will leave too, but everything will happen in accordance with his wish.”

It highlights the governance and rule of mafia leaders and the rivalry and crime prevailing in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh. The first season of the web series featured Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, Divyendu Sharma and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
