These activewear trends will instantly motivate you to workout at home

One of the hardest things we’ve had to try and deal with during the past few months of isolation, lockdown and social distancing is finding the will to move. We were forced into the confines of our homes where we had to work, eat and workout and basically just do everything. Our lives turned upside down, we couldn’t hit the gym, meet our friends for brunch or get that daily cafe from our nearest coffee shop.

It truly has been a learning curve as we learned to brew our own coffees, try out new recipes, order groceries online and even try our hand at home workouts. It wasn’t easy and it appears that times are still testing. Inactivity may be at an all time high, but what if you had the cutest workout wear, wouldn’t you be excited to get up and workout everyday? We thought so! And so we bring you some active wear trends that will motivate you to workout instantly!

Matching Sets

Open any Instagram fitness page and you’ll come across trainers and fitness fiends in the brightest and boldest matching sets. Think Charlee Atkins, think Jeanette Jenkins. They have sported some of the most colourful matching sets and we are totally in awe of them each time they demonstrate a home workout. Opt for fuchsia pink, lemon yellow or mint green. The cuter your outfit, the more motivated you’ll be to get that body moving.

Pastel-hued leggings

It’s summer, it’s hot and it’s likely that it’s hotter when you’re working out indoors. Why not opt for a pretty pastel palette that will make your day and your workout a little brighter? All the stylish trainers and fitness fiends on the gram have ditched their black, grey and darker hued leggings for brighter, pastel hues like bubblegum pink, lavender, pastel blue and sorbet orange. These can be paired with your go-to sports bra or even a contrasting coloured sports bra or crop top.

Tie and Dye

Tie and dye appears to be all the rage these days and we’ve seen plenty of it on all our social media. While it may be the trend of the season, it has also made its way to the active wear section and we are all for it! You can even try creating it yourself with some dye and rubber bands. Not only will that keep you busy for a couple of hours, but you’ll also have a new workout set! A tie and dye set will definitely get you up and in the mood and help you power through a killer workout.

Bold prints

There’s nothing better to brighten your day and workout than a bold print. We’re all about prints! Bold animal prints, stripes, polka dots, florals, anything! You name it and we’re a fan. Especially in the summer season, it’s best to rock a bright and bold print. And now, you don’t need to restrict your prints to your pleated skirts or your summer dresses. You can even opt for printed workout attire and you’ll be lifting weights like nobody’s business!

Cycling shorts

Now this one is a winner in our books because it doesn’t have to be restricted to your workout. Cycling shorts have become quite the trend, even in highstreet wear. They are widely available in the market and double up as something you can team with a tee if you’re heading out for a stroll or even to do your weekly groceries. These come in bold colours, prints and even pastel hues, so the choice is yours.
