Whether you’re a Pakistani living abroad or in Pakistan, Independence Day is one day you always look forward to. It has always been a day that is celebrated with much zeal and vigour and given the history, there is every reason to celebrate this special day. Everyone celebrates this day in their own unique way with some opting for fireworks, barbecues, get togethers and family picnics. This year Independence Day came in the midst of a global pandemic and while we believed celebrations would be low key, they were anything but that.
Many celebrated with friends, family, spending the day eating and out and about. The one thing most Pakistanis had in common however, is how they displayed patriotism by adorning the colours of the flag. Our Instagram feed brought Independence Day fashion to the forefront and hues of green and white filled the screen. Celebrities too were all part of the celebrations and many dressed to impress this Independence Day. And so, without further ado, we round up three of our favourite looks from Independence Day.
Urwa Hocane
Urwa Hocane is one Pakistani starlet that needs no introduction. She has amassed a huge following on Instagram and has followers the world over. She often takes to her Instagram account to share glimpses of her life with her fans and followers and often shares pictures of herself clad in some of the most feminine outfits we’ve seen. And similarly on Independence Day she took to her Instagram to share a picture of herself in the loveliest shade of green. In her picture, Urwa Hocane can be seen clad in a teal green silk trench coat style kameez which lapels and matching buttons. She has accessorised with gold hoop earrings and lots of gold bangles. To complete the look, Urwa Hocane opted for a dewy makeup look with a coat of mascara and her hair swept to the side.
Zainab Abbas
We’ve grown rather fond of Zainab Abbas and she has a certain charm and aura about herself, on and off screen. Our favourite sports commentator has become an avid user of social media and often takes to her Instagram to share all the looks she’s been sporting. From the chicest western wear to the trendiest desi attire, this girl is not just a pretty face but also knows her style as well as her sports. And this Independence Day was no different. Zainab Abbas opted for a pastel green hue this Indepence Day and we are absolutely loving the look. Her pastel green kameez was adorned with white embroidery and was teamed with a pair of white pants. The outfit was rounded off with a matching green dupatta and a pair of khussas. She had her hair styled in a middle parting and with a barely there makeup look she rounded off her look with a tinted lip.
Resham
The timeless beauty and the one we have always loved, Resham, was a breath of fresh air this Independence Day. She stood tall and poised when she took to Instagram to share her Independence Day look. For her look, she opted for one colour, the perfect teal green and her outfit comprised a kameez with a longer length hemline and matching straight pants. The outfit was coupled with a matching teal organza dupatta which featured texture along the bottom. To add more glamour to her look, she teamed it with a pair of patent black peep toe Christian Louboutin heels and a voluminous blowout. With a bronzed glow and her gorgeous smile, Resham made a real head-turning statement this Independence Day.
