Popular social media app, Tik Tok saw a surge in its use over the lockdown period, with many youngsters and adults using the app to entertain themselves and others in the midst of the global pandemic. It is pertinent to note however, that the app has raised some concern and its use has even been banned in some countries. And now, one particular user of the app has come under fire for a particular stunt which has not gone down well with his audience.
Loca Tik Tok star Adil Rajput is bearing the brunt of a shameful act, in which he has faked his own death, as part of a stunt. The popular Tik Toker who hails from Rahim Yar Khan, has a magnitude of a following of over 2.5 million followers. The star was reported dead by his wife, Farah Adil, on their TikTok account where they regularly upload videos together. In the video, his wife can be seen crying while saying, “Adil is no longer with us,” adding that she had just received a call informing her of an accident and that Rajput had passed away.
The video instantly started making rounds of social media and as per ritual, a local mosque in their area also announced the news. Following this, many fans made their way to Rajput’s house to offer condolences and found that the star was alive and well. Farah later uploaded another video explaining that there was a ‘misunderstanding’.
“Allah has granted another life to Adil (Rajput). Adnan called again and said that Adil had fainted, and he thought he had died,” she said. She also slammed the media for propagating false news and sensationalising on their pain. Soon after her updated story, a video of Rajput in which he can be seen with a cast on his leg and a bandaged head, also started doing the rounds on social media.
There are some fans of the couple who were amused by the act while others slammed them and criticised them for stopping to such a low level to gain sympathy and followers. In the video, Farah was heard continuously reiterating that Rajput had gotten into an accident. For obvious reasons, Twitter lost its cool and netizens took to the micro-blogging site to shame the couple, while others lauded their acting skills.
“Disgusting! #AdilRajput’s wife after making prank of her husband #TikTok #TikTokExposed,” wrote one user, while another user wrote, “I swear I didn’t know about this man, but after his fake death news for publicity and fake fame, I realised that TikTokers are only junk.”

“Shameful that for a few likes & followers these kind of people are stooping so low & making a mockery of death. Shame on him & more on his wife. Now even it would be true in the future for anyone God forbid no one will take it seriously or believe it #adilrajput,” one startled user wrote.

One user shamed their method of trying to get fame and publicity. “What a mean and pathetic way to gain followers! That’s the wrong and unethical use of social media,” a user wrote.
As expected, a number of memes also followed. After all, it is what Pakistanis are best at doing. Check them out here:
