Travellers coming to Dubai via Dubai International Airport can now take the PCR nasal swab test before they fly. According to Emirates Airline, the COVID-19 test can be taken at any approved testing centres worldwide. Those flying in from the UK can take the test at an NHS clinic before their departure. Travellers from the US can bring a negative test certificate from any registered lab or healthcare practitioner.
Emirates Airline has shared a long list of recognised screening centres around the world on its website. Previously, passengers could only take the test at a UAE-recognised clinic abroad. Those arriving at other airports in the country must continue to take the test at Pure-Health approved clinics only. Those flying in from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh can only visit the country if they have a negative test certificate from a health facility approved by Pure Health. The test should be taken a maximum of 96 hours before the flight. Passengers arriving in the country may be asked to take the PCR test a second time at the airport and must stay in quarantine until results are shared. Children under the age of 12 or those with disabilities are exempt from COVID-19 testing.

The number of coronavirus cases is declining in the UAE while the number of recoveries is going up. Around 61,352 people have been diagnosed till date while 54,863 have recovered from the disease and currently there are 5,949 active cases in the country. No new fatalities have been reported in the last few days and the death toll stands at 351. Worldwide, a total of 18,491,721 coronavirus cases have been confirmed, with 11,717,939 recoveries and 698,535 deaths.
