Alas, the Covid-19 pandemic led to businesses, economies and the lives of almost everybody coming to a standstill. As the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government worked tirelessly to combat the fast-spreading virus, in hindsight it witnessed a series of successful outcomes through the various strategies it employed to address the coronavirus outbreak. In this regard, the Emirates has become an inspirational role model when it comes to adapting to the “new normal” pretty fast when compared to other countries, including implementing procedures for ensuring the continuity of education and health systems, the recovery of the economic and commercial sectors, tourism and entertainment activities.

The 2020 Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI) recently announced that the UAE – set to celebrate 50 years of its existence this year – is ranked first in the Arab region and second globally in terms of addressing the Covid-19 pandemic. The UAE is also in the lead among countries in terms of the Covid-19 vaccine distribution rate and it still continues to carry out extensive testing throughout the country. The UAE has also put into place a complete economic support plan that includes a range of procedures aimed at curbing the after-effects of the pandemic on the country’s economy. Not to forget, the country and its attractions have also broken several Guiness World Records this year too!
