New cases of the novel coronavirus in Pakistan have sparked fear of a potential second wave if precautions are not taken at the right time. The same was revealed by Dr Faisal Sultan, special assistant to the prime minister on health, who stated that people were not following the standard operating procedures. “A few weeks ago, we were getting 400 to 500 cases per day, but now it has increased to 700 to 750 cases. Moreover, the mortality rate has also increased. Another ratio which is considered is percentage positivity that remained less than 2%, but now it has reached close to 3%,” he said. Just yesterday, model Farwa Kazmi shared that she had contracted the infection and now actor Usman Mukhtar has fallen prey to the same.
“Guys I’ve been tested positive for Covid-19. Thankfully I am also tested positive for having awesome people like you to pray for my health,” he wrote on his Instagram story. “Please keep me in your prayers and safe space. This isn’t over yet,” he added.

When Kazmi disclosed her diagnosis, she stated that she initially mistook her symptoms for the common cold until her PCR test turned out to be positive. She took to her Instagram handle and shared the symptoms she has been feeling since falling sick. “I am Covid positive. Everyone who has been in touch with me or Ali in the past week, please quarantine yourself,” she wrote on the photo-sharing platform, adding that she assumes she contracted the virus by sharing food and a cigar with a carrier. Kazmi mentioned she has been experiencing severe headaches, body aches, nausea, loss of taste, smell, and appetite. Hollywood celebrities, who have recently tested positive for Covid-19, have also come forward to spread awareness about the pandemic and encouraged people to wear masks, practice social distancing and wash hands regularly.
