Vidya Balan and Jisshu Sengupta shared an off-screen common interest on the sets of the just streamed film Shakuntala Devi: The Human Computer – and that was pranking! While Vidya plays serious characters in her films, her role on Shakuntala is also that of a fun-loving person that the late mathematical genius was.
And being true to her character, Vidya ended up playing pranks on her crew. Vidya was the mastermind behind all the notorious pranks. Narrating more about her vivid pranks, a source from the set mentions, “During the shoot, Vidya would write on our jackets with chalk, call out people’ s names in funny voices and then giggle as they looked around in confusion. She hid people’s phones and teased almost everyone. It was all in good humour though so everyone enjoyed it.”
The actress who debuted in the film Parineeta by Pradeep Sarkar is also very fluent in Bangla and took the opportunity to prank her crew. “Throughout the shoot they pulled pranks on the crew together, had inside jokes and spoke to each other in Bengali before bursting into peals of laughter that resonated around the set. They danced, yapped and had a whole load of fun which made their on-screen chemistry so much fun to watch,” adds the source.
Shakuntala Devi also stars Sanya Malhotra and Amit Sadh.
