Yun Tu Hai Pyar Bohut Episode 18: Nazi and Faakhir Grow Closer

“Yun Tu Pyar Hai Bohut” airs on Hum TV on Fridays. It follows the story of a young, in-love couple that separates due to circumstances, mostly financial, and depicts their struggles in life both together and apart. This drama stars Affan Waheed, Hira Mani, Maryam Mirza, Javed Sheikh, Sabeena Syed, Nadia Hussain and others in lead roles. The story has been written by Aliya Bukhari while the drama has been directed by Kashif Saleem. Most recently, Zain has taken responsibility of Saru after Deeba and Maqsood’s disappearance while Aima has discovered the deeper connection between Roohi and her mother.

What’s not-so-great about this drama is that the focus was essentially on Aima (Hira Mani) and Zain’s (Affan Waheed) relationship and how they, despite wanting to be, could not be together. However as of late, the focus has moved onto Aima’s family drama, Nazi’s relationship and work troubles and an absolutely unnecessary plotline surrounding Roohi (Nadya Hussain) and Sonia (Sabeena Syed).

In episode 18, Aima is now set on filing a case against Mohsin (Javed Sheikh), wanting her mother and sister to get justice. However, her mother has gotten used to Nazi’s lavish lifestyle and does not want anything to drive a wedge in her success – especially not a high profile case, forcing Aima to put the case aside. Meanwhile, Nazi’s career is flourishing under the “attention” of her boss – but Nazi finds herself growing close to Faakhir, Zain’s friend, while also becoming aware of her boss’s long-term plans….to take her on as a second wife. Meanwhile, Zain’s career has taken off and Bobby, under Sonia’s demands, visits Zain to sign a contract. But when he realizes Sonia is behind it, Zain kicks Bobby out of his life, forcing Bobby to realize how Sonia has been using him.

Really, the story with Roohi and Sonia is bizarre and unnecessary. Sonia keeps shrieking about how Aima “stole” Zain from her, but in reality, Zain and Aima have been together since childhood, so her statement is a mess. Adding to that, Zain has never showed any interest in Sonia whatsoever for this young woman to be obsessing over him to this extent. The man has said no, so take no for an answer. This is the female version of a psychotic stalker and really, if there’s any “happy ending” for her at the end, it would be really problematic. She belongs in a psyche ward.

As mentioned earlier, Aima and Zain’s love story has taken a backseat entirely, though it seems they will finally come face to face at Faakhir’s (Ali Jafri) sister’s wedding next week. However, what will Aima think when she finds out about Saru? Aima hasn’t been the most trusting individual, even when the truth is staring her in the face, so will this be yet another reason for her to turn against Zain? That’s not really love if you can’t trust a person for even a second. The Nazi and Faakhir love story is really very sweet, especially from Faakhir’s end. Not only is the character sweet, but the actor, Ali Jafri, is also a natural.

Overall, “Yun Toh Hai Pyar Bohut” is a show that’s underrated in a way. It offers more entertainment than most Geo soaps and TRP churners and actually has a very interesting storyline – and yet, it’s not getting the ratings that it should be getting. This drama is a nice, breezy watch, but it would be nice if it aired more often than just once a week.
