If you’re an avid follower of Pakistan’s film and television industry, you’ll know that Zara Noor Abbas Siddiqui has been making headlines for a number of reasons. Her character in the drama serial Zebaish has become the talk of the town and has become part of the most trending meme for her exaggerated expression and high pitch. In a recent interview with Pakistani entertainment portal Something Haute Zara Noor Abbas opened up about how she views the current stage of her career and whether or not she considers Zebaish a mistake.
For anyone who has seen the drama serial or has heard all the buzz surrounding it, will know that the drama was being criticised after the third or fourth episode. Speaking on this criticism, Zara opened up and said that the same audience had loved her work in Ehd-e-Wafa and they have given her immense appreciation for her earlier work. She then took the criticism in her stride and said, “So Zebaish was a success for me because it helped me figure out the do’s and don’ts that I must take into consideration at this point of my career; I’ve learnt so much from this one mistake before doing any other blunder. I have realized what are my strengths and what are my weaknesses in terms of my character arc, script, styling, tone etc. So I will fail and fall flat but I will get up feeling victorious about it,” Zara said.
When she was asked about what she thought of why it went wrong she was of the opinion that the team did not gel well. “We are all family, but it just didn’t click here. My mom (Asma Abbas), khala (Bushra Ansari) and I have worked together in Deewar-e-Shab and it was great but here it just didn’t portray well on screen. Similarly, Asad and I have worked in Chhalawa and everybody loved it. There are several films with superstars like Thugs of Hindustan etc that just don’t work,” she expressed.

Zara Noor Abbas then spoke about what the experience taught her and also spoke about what is next for the much-loved actor. “I am working on a social issue based drama. I believe we portray social issues in a mundane way on TV which appear monotonous,” she said, while revealing that she has gained a new kind of strength from her new character. She hopes the new character will translate well on screen.
Her new drama is all set to air in December or January.
