Widely popular as the ‘King of Comedy’, Umer Sharif is considered to be one of the greatest veterans of Pakistani entertainment. Having kicked off his showbiz career from Karachi as a stage artist at the mere age of 14, the star capitulated to fame following the soaring success of his popular 1989 comedy stage plays, Bakra Qistoon Pe and Buddha Ghar Pe Hai. Still the record-holder of receiving four Nigar Awards in one year, Sharif is a household name in South Asia. If there is someone who has been able to describe the actor-producer’s legacy to perfection, it has to be singer Farhan Saeed. Not too long ago, he paid tribute to Sharif sahab in an Instagram post.
Saeed penned, “I have toured India multiple times and if there is one ambassador of Pakistani culture and talent across the border, it is none other than Umer sahab. His humor undoubtedly transcends boundaries. I’ve had countless fans across the border asking me to convey to him their messages of love, respect and admiration.” Both, his services to Pakistan and his talent remains unmatched even today.
While Sharif chooses to maintain a low profile when it comes to his professional life, his better half and ladylove Zareen Ghazal makes sure to keep his fans entertained with regular posts about her husband on Instagram. Needless to say, she posts the cutest pictures of them together and him alone!
From their selfies to vacations and Sharif’s appearance on talk shows, Ghazal’s updates are a visual treat to her thousands of followers. In July this year, she put up a throwback picture of the two hugging while holidaying in London. Another blast-from-the-past selfie that followed showed the adorable pair looking oh-so-sweet as they smile for the camera.

Often, we see that Ghazal cannot stop gushing over her favourite man’s style either! She uploads his solo images from time to time, adding simple yet heartwarming captions. In one shot, Sharif can be seen clad in a white sherwani featuring embroidery on the collar and black sunnies. The caption reads, “Style
May Allah bless him with good health. Ameen.” A candid picture from the same day followed right after. Always praying for her significant other’s health and happiness, Ghazal also treated Sharif’s fans to a click of his from Aamir Liaqat’s show on August 14. Staying true to his roots, the comedy legend was seen sporting a dark green waistcoat and crisp white shalwar kameez. We absolutely love her Instagram handle and the daily dose of entertainment it provides!
