It is often alleged that women are envious and do not uplift one another. While we do not agree with this misconception one bit, neither does renowned TV host and actor Anoushey Ashraf. Vocal and outspoken about subjects close to her heart, she recently uploaded screenshots of her Instagram DMs on the photo-sharing platform, in which her female fans are cheering her on and sending positive messages her way. Exposing the myths that unnecessarily plot women against each other, Ashraf shared screenshots of her conversations and publicly responded to the warm messages that she has been receiving from women over the past few days. Needless to say, she is overwhelmed!
“MEN compliment me and it certainly feels great. But when women compliment me, it uplifts my spirit and soul,” wrote. Ashraf clarified that she has not just been getting heartfelt messages from Pakistani women but some of them are from other countries around the world. “These messages have come to me over the last two days from ladies around the world. They specially wrote to me to appreciate me and give me love. They took the time out to let someone know they’re talented and inspiring,” she added.

Ashraf mentioned she is grateful for all the support and is living her best life. “Non-physical compliments also feel so good sometimes. I feel like I have a bigger support system of sisters I haven’t even met but want each of them to know how grateful I am for you,” she continued, while adding, “Women do not always pull each other down. They do not always get jealous of each other. These are mere misconceptions. People dislike one another, people are sometimes jealous of one another, irrespective of their gender. These messages are proof.” She ended her message with, “To the men who love me and my work, I’m so very thankful for you. To the women who do the same, I wish I could hug each of you.
