Dubai: 10-year Golden Visas Granted To Orphaned Indian Sisters And Their Grandparents Following Personal Tragedy

Earlier this year, an Indian couple – Hiren and Vidhi Adhiya – was found dead in the bedroom of their villa at the Arabian Ranches. The culprit, a Pakistani worker was said to have killed them on June 17, 2020. The deceased left behind their two daughters, who have now been granted the Gold Visa by the Dubai police, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA). The orphaned girls’ grandparents were also given the Gold Visa. The decision is aimed towards helping the sisters to continue their studies in the UAE – something their late father always dreamt of for them. The Dubai police helped the children with the paperwork, reported Gulf News.

Lt General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, Commander-In-Chief at Dubai Police and Major General Mohammad Ahmad Al Marri, Director-General of GDRFA-Dubai with other senior officials handed over the Gold Visa card to the Indian sisters and their grandparents at the GDRFA-Dubai headquarters. According to Dubai Police, they were in contact with the two sisters after the incident and worked hard to bring the girls back to Dubai from their home country with their grandparents. Dubai Police provided full scholarships to the girls from the Canadian University and Repton School in Dubai as well as a place to live with their grandparents. “Granting the gold visa card to the orphan sisters is part of the humanitarian initiative of the UAE to ensure happiness to the community members. Dubai Police and GDRFA-Dubai contributed in putting a smile on their faces through an extinguish and humanitarian gesture,” Lt Gen Al Merri said.
