Dunk: Twitter Users Have High Expectations From Sana Javed, Bilal Abbas Starrer

One of the most awaited drama serials of the year, the first teaser of Dunk was recently unveiled and already has fans gripped with excitement. Starring Sana Javed, Bilal Abbas and Noman Ijaz in titular roles, it brings to light the subject of assault towards women. The latter essays the role of a professor (Humayun) accused of harassing Sana’s character (Amal) at the educational institution he teaches at. Bilal as Haider seeks support for the alleged victim. Whether the storyline does justice to the grave issue it aims to address is something we are fervent to see. Directed by Badar Mehmood, the upcoming drama is produced by Fahad Mustafa under Big Bang Entertainment.

 

 

The action-packed teaser kicks off with angry protestors holding placards reading ‘Stop Harassment’. It then progresses to Sana presenting her case, stating “Meri baat pay yaqeen karein. Jhoot bol rahe hain professor Humayun (Please believe me. Professor Humayun is lying).” Media personnel can be seen pestering Sana to get the real story out of her while Noman’s character gets beaten up with shoes. Twitter has been filled with praises for the three leads and their stellar acting in short promo.

 

 

 

 

 

“Here comes the crush of half Pakistanis,” wrote a user while referring to Bilal’s looks. Cheering for Noman, a tweet read, “#Dunk first promo is out now. #NaumanIjaz He is a legend. Portraying devil or hero, wait for a while but this man just nailed it. Most users were of the opinion that the drama is very relevant to today’s time. “The teaser of Dunk gave me goosebumps. Drama is based on a story which every girl facing now a days,” one noted. Some others however begged to differ. “Watched the teaser of #Dunk and sorry to say but I was expecting something different. Unfortunately, our writers are repeating the same storyline with different star casts and under different TV channels,” read an opposing reaction.

“Teaching is such a respectable profession but some of them have ruined its image and this drama portrayed this side of society very well,” lauded a user. “I actually loved the teaser of #Dunk specially Sana, bilal and noman’s characters look interesting. Some users on the micro-blogging platform could not stop swooning over Sana and Bilal’s crackling on-screen chemistry. “Finally, a new good pairing after ages,” wrote one, alongside a heart emoji. One more read, “The paring. The chemistry. The fire,” followed by, “Can they come Asap to bless my screen” and “Love these two, Sana and Bilal very much.” A user mentioned, “#Dunk & #BilalAbbasKhan trending on Twitter! Yayyy we’re proud @bilalabbas_khan! We love you!” Referring to Sana, a post added, “Super Excited For #Dunk. Can’t Wait To See My Idol’s Skills.” Another user called it a “blockbuster serial”.

Giving a shoutout to Bilal, a fan wrote, HAIDER! The intensity in his eyes. Bilal Abbas Khan is coming to burn our screens with his phenomenal acting. Can’t wait for Dunk.” Twitter users are also expecting Dunk to break several records. “I think #Dunk is going to break all records. The teaser is looking so intense and the story is also quite unpredictable.
