As one of Pakistan’s leading fashion shows, Bridal Couture Week (BCW) came to a close, many reflected back at the week that was. Among them was designer Mohsin Naveed Ranjha, who also showcased his offerings on the ramp. Weighing in on the 17th edition of the extravaganza, Mohsin highlighted the discrimination faced by designers in Pakistan’s fashion industry. Taking to social media, he started off with, “There is no debut designer that does not get hate for the art they produce. I have struggled to make a name for myself.”
He continued, “The hardships that paved the way and the challenges that brought me to the point I am at today, made me promise myself in the past that whatever is destined to happen, and if by the will of God, I ever get to make a name, I’d help promote local art and artisanship.”
Mohsin slammed those who undermine the efforts of others and put their work down every chance they get. “Liking or disliking someone’s work is totally subjective but putting someone down and disrespecting them is something that made me want to address this issue,” mentioned Mohsin.
