There’s nothing we love more than a good makeup hack using our best makeup products. Beauty hacks can save you a lot of time and effort and there are so many different hacks that are available to try and play around with. If you ever run out of one makeup product, there are a number of ways in which you can use the products available to you, to improvise and create a certain look.
Everyone has that favourite lipstick, that shade they wear on a regular basis and the colour that they can’t live without. But did you know you can use that very shade as a makeup product other than for your lips? It is a versatile makeup product that can be used in a variety of ways and we’re here to show you how. We put together three different ways to use your lipstick.
As a blush
One of the easiest ways to use a lipstick other than on your lips is as a blush. Essentially, lipstick is a creamy formula and can be applied easily on other areas of your skin. All you have to do is dab a bit on your finger and spread it across your cheeks as a blush. Just a small amount will suffice to bring that rosy glow to your cheeks. Blend the colour on the apples of your cheeks and it doubles up as a lipstick and a cheek tint. This hack is best for days when your skin is feeling slightly dull and you want a more glowy look than usual. The cream base of the lipstick gives you that dewy glow and texture more so than a powder blush.
As a colour corrector
The last thing you would imagine using your lipstick for is as a colour corrector. This hack is particularly useful for those who have extremely dark under eyes and eye bags. To colour correct, all you need to do is apply a red lipstick under your eyes or anywhere on where dark spots are visible and blend it in. Blend well before applying your normal foundation and then continue with your normal makeup routine. You will instantly notice the difference and you can thank us later.
Coloured eyelids have become all the rage in the past few months and continue to take centre stage in the makeup scene. From bold blues to pretty pinks, having your eyelids painted one colour will instantly amp up your look and leave heads turning each time you step out. And now that we’re wearing masks in public spaces, what better way to make a statement than with a bold coloured eyelid? For achieving this look, you can use your liquid matte lipsticks which won’t crease on your eyelids in the sweltering summer heat. Swatch your favourite colour over your eyelids and blend in, until the colour subsides slightly. Add a coat of mascara and you’ll be good to go!
