Social media has become so vast that it is now our go-to place for everything. From the latest updates, to worldly news, to what our favourite celebs are up to, to all the styling advice we could ever need and want; social media platforms of today have absolutely everything. It has also become a source for keeping up with what our favourite stylists and influencers have been up to. While it is great to see what everyone is up to and being inspired by all the great content being generated; social media has also become a breeding ground for hatred, jealousy and negativity.
Social media inevitably makes you want what you can’t have. It perpetually makes you compare yourself to what is out there and to all those who appear to have the perfect lives. It is no longer a safe space to share your content and express yourself freely, because as soon as you do, the moral police will be out and about to have their say. And there have been many examples in the recent past.Case in point, Esra Bilgic who was criticised for her choice of clothing and just today Wasim Akram, who posted a picture with his daughter.
Veteran cricket player Wasim Akram took to his Instagram account and shared a lovely picture of himself with his little girl, walking the streets of London a day after Pakistan beat England in the T20 match. We love everything about the picture as Wasim Akram is all smiles holding his daughter’s hand as they walk along. While everything about the picture is innocent, one particular netizen didn’t think so.
Taking to the comments section the user offered unsolicited advice which wasn’t welcomed by the former cricketer. “She is little princess but you have to follow Islam. Please teach her to wear some good clothes,” the comment read. Wasim Akram wasn’t having it and responded to the troll saying, “Are you serious? Mind your freaking own business.” And we are so here for his response. Social media users and netizens never seem to think that they’re crossing a boundary or that they are not in any position to offer their advice.

It’s great to see that celebrities are now responding to trolls and not holding back. Wasim Akram has, however, since deleted the post.
